At Thornbury Castle, you can enjoy fine-dining or traditional afternoon tea set in beautiful and historic surroundings. Tortworth Court is another historical property located a few miles away which offers high quality food and beverages in impressive suroundings which includes a small arboretum. The world-renowned Slimbridge Wetland Centre is located within a comfortable 20 minute drive.
Thornbury is a historic market town which has served the local rural community for hundreds of years, nowadays better known for it’s farmers market offering fresh local produce and attractive town centre shops ranging from well-know high street retailers to smaller bespoke shops. It also offers a Michelin starred restaurant Ronnie’s together with a comprehensive selection of restaurants, cafes and traditional pubs offering a wide range of food and drink for all tastes and budgets. Many visitors pop into LE Riddiford grocery store on the High Street which was the inspiration for Ronnie Barker’s popular TV show Open All hours. There are modern healthcare facilities, several pharmacies and two large supermarkets with free car parking.
